April 13- Doctrine & Covenants 38:16

This scripture says that for our salvation God gives us commandments. This is absolutely true. The commandments protect us and as we live them they change our hearts. However I think, when talking about obedience, it is important to remember that we are not saved BY our obedience to the commandments. We obey, and that obedience makes us more like the Savior, but in all things we are saved by Christ and through Christ and because of Christ.
