He Alone Keeps Us Safe

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Psalm 4:8 which says "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety."

"You can rest knowing that you are safe. You can look at this week and be thankful for all that you’ve accomplished and you can rest knowing that you won’t skip a beat.

I am guilty of the overworking. I am guilty of the “don’t stop until it’s accomplished” mindset. I fear that if I stop I will lose traction in all that I have accomplished but that is the furthest from the truth.

You see we get to be in peace. We can lie down and sleep knowing that the only things that keeps us safe, “for you alone, Lord” make me dwell in safety.

So that job you’re working so hard for? That business, those courses. All these things we give our attention to? None of them will bring us the safety and the security that God will.

Let us rest in that this weekend."
