May 16- Doctrine & Covenants 51:1

Here the Lord promises to give Bishop Partridge direction as he seeks to move forward in his stewardship to bless the saints. I love the promise that the Lord, who is ever aware of us, can step in and give us directions in our time of need. However, I don't believe that being worthy of the Spirit means that we will have a 24/7 step by step instruction on what we should and should not do. Our Heavenly Father is intent on our growth and learning, and so, especially in times of little consequence, I believe He steps back to let us learn to choose for ourselves, He let's us make mistakes, knowing that those mistakes can be turned to wisdom.
