In Matthew 13, Jesus told a story about a teacher sowing the Word of God. The seed of Scripture landed on a variety of different types of soil. The first type of soil was hard and unreceptive, which can be us sometimes. The next time you sit to listen to someone sowing Scripture, pray and ask God to give you a soft heart ready to receive what He wants you to hear.
